When the Precious Promises project was just an idea, I knew I wanted beautiful Scripture songs. But the obstacles seemed like mountains. I didn’t have any of my own Scripture songs and I didn’t know very many musicians with Scripture songs personally. Because of these obstacles and many others, I wavered a lot, not sure if this project would ever become a reality.
I wasn’t very confident as I reached out to the first mucisian, Ainy Evelyn Stephen. I explained my project and asked if she would be willing to let me use some of her music. (I knew nothing about music royalties at that point).
Not only did she respond with kindness, enthuisiasm, and encouragement, she also offered to write some songs for my project! She did not even ask for anything in return. I see it as God’s providence now that she was the one I contacted first to encourage me to keep going.
Precious Promises Book one contains 11 original songs by Ainy. Our whole family loves them! Ainy has such a sweet spirit that flows out in her songs. While we have never met her, I can say she has made a huge impact on our family. One of my girls’ favorite songs is a compilation of faith verses she composed for the project: Hebrews 11:1,6; 2 Corinthians 5:7: Romans 10:17. They also call it the “froggy song” as it corresponds to the frog picture in the book.
You can find Ainy on Apple Music, Spotify, youtube or her website https://theadventmessage.org/
The sale of the Precious Promises books will be helping to support her music ministry!
